Boro Vucinic, Minister of Defence of Montenegro

Minister of Defense Boro Vucinic was born in 1954 in Podgorica, where he graduated from secondary school and the Faculty of Law and subsequently earned a masters degree.

He started working at the Titograd Civil Engineering Organization. After that, he worked with municipal authorities and headed the Social Fund for Building Land, Business Premises and Roads. He served as the Minister of Environmental Protection and Urban Planning in the former Cabinet.

 

He was elected deputy in the Municipal Assembly of Podgorica and Member of the Parliament of Montenegro. As MP he was the Chairman of the Mandate and Immunity Committee, Member of the Appointment and Nomination Committee, Member of the Constitutional Affairs Committee and Member of the Committee for the Drafting of the Constitutional Charter of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro.

As a member of the Democratic Party of Socialists, he occupied the position of a member and chairman of the Municipal Organization of Podgorica, Chairman of the Executive Committee and member of the DPS Presidency.

As a sports official, he held a number of important offices in sports. Among other things, he was the Chairman of the National Rifle Association of Yugoslavia, the first Chairman of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Yugoslav Olympic Committee and Head of the Yugoslav Sports Delegation at the 1997 Mediterranean Games in Italy.

Married, father of four children.
